(Accessible Healthcare for all)
- Health sector has the biggest allocation in the provincial budget this year, amounting to
P475
Million.
- This amount will be used for the rehabilitation of the provincial and district
hospitals,
hiring of additional health practitioners and medical personnel, and procurement of
more
medical
facilities, medicines, equipment, among others.
- PGIN has also reopened the “Saguip Nars” Program.
- The first batch of beneficiaries (50 nurses) has already deployed in the provincial
and
district
hospitals, and different offices of the PGIN.
- Application for the second batch of “Saguip Nars” is scheduled on May 4, 2020
(tentative).
Narimat nga Aglawlaw
(A Brighter Environment)
- On October 3, 2019, “NariMATT nga Aglawlaw,” an information drive, was launched to instill
responsible waste management among Ilokano communities.

Last December xx, the awarding of Cleanest and Greenest cities, municipalities, barangays,
and

- The Governor has also encouraged a “shame campaign” for the “dirtiest and brownest”
cities,
municipalities, barangays, and schools to serve as their wake up call.
- Last January 22, the DENR–EMB Region I has already turned over the P25.5 Million cash
assistance
to PGIN for the construction of Plastic Recycling and Resource Recovery Facility at Brgy.
Imelda,
Marcos town.
- The 202nd Founding Anniversary celebration of Ilocos Norte will center on the branding of
“Renewable Energy Capital of the Philippines and also in Southeast Asia.

(Continuing Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolks)
- On January 13, the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office I started the
distribution of
cash assistance worth Php 5,000 to over 2,000 Ilokano farmers. 17,000 farmers are still
scheduled to
receive the cash grant.
- Provincial Budget for Agriculture and Fishery:
- P6 Million of the provincial budget is allocated for the development of
agri-infrastructures such
as farm-to-market roads, irrigation systems, and other agriculture facilities.
- P3 million will be used to fund crop grants, organic pesticides, water harvesting
facilities, and
procurement of climate change-resilient agricultural inputs, among others.
- P15 Million is apportioned for the construction of Ilocos Norte Agriculture and
Fishery Extension
Center building.
- Continuing “Capitol Express” Program

- Ilocos Norte’s rating on road clearing compliance is “moderate compliance.”
- Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc revived the Metro Ilocos Norte Council and “Night Express”
Program to provide safe and reliable transport for students, tourists, and other commuters

- Provincial Budget for transportation:
- P5 Million will fund the construction of MINC dispatching terminals.
- P1 Million shall finance the terminal makeshift tents.
- P4 Million is apportioned for the construction of a rotunda in San Nicolas.

- Regular conduct of job fairs
- In line with the celebration of Ilocos Norte’s 202nd Founding Anniversary, the
Provincial PESO will conduct a job fair on February 2.
- Over P39 Million will be used to finance prime tourism events and employment programs.
