Sec. Dizon assures "free, safe" COVID-19 vaccine for Ilocos Norte

Dec. 15, 2020 ...

The Province of Ilocos Norte is on the priority list of local government units (LGUs) that will be provided with "free and safe" COVID-19 vaccines, Secretary Vince Dizon, National Action Plan Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer, assured.

On December 11, members of the National Task Force (NTF) - Coordinated Operation to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team and the Regional Task Force 1Against COVID-19 visited Ilocos Norte to augment the containment practices of the Provincial Government amidst the outbreak in the Capital city.

According to him, the "free" vaccine might be available in the country in the first half of 2021.

At present, the Food and Drug Administration, Department of Science and Technology, and Department of Health, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, are thoroughly screening and validating the vaccines to ensure that it is safe for all.
