The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), through the Provincial Resiliency Office, has received additional donations from the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) yesterday, which will be distributed to medical frontliners from government hospitals, institutional workers, and isolation facilities, throughout the province.

Among the truckload of items delivered include 1,200 KN95 masks, 1,000 boxes (50 pcs. per box) of surgical facemasks, 1,000 boxes (50 pcs. per box) of medical gloves, 1,200 medical shoe covers, head covers, face shields, and disposable surgical gowns, and 1,000 gallons of alcohol.

In addition, a total of 25 bedside tables, approximately 200 rechargeable emergency lights, 200 modular tents with one (1) bed, foam mattress, bed sheet, pillow, chair, table, and electric fan to be deployed in hospitals or facilities, which are not yet identified.

"Previously, nag-donate na rin ang OCD ng iba pang items gaya ng generator sets, electric fans, and PPEs. Bukod dito, OCD is also providing the salary of nine (9) institutional workers in isolation facilities, alongside meals, snacks, and drinking water for COVID-19 patients and medical frontliners since April this year, up to present," Local Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Officer Mr. Marcell N. Tabije stated.

The Provincial Government remains proactive in addressing the needs of medical and other frontline workers in the province, particularly during this time of the pandemic.
