by PGIN-CMO

Feb. 23, 2021 ...

To sustain income-generating opportunities for livestock raisers in the province, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), through the support of the Department of Agriculture (DA),  distributed another set of livestock assistance earlier today in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte.

The Animal Dispersal Livelihood Assistance Program is an initiative of the Provincial Veterinary Office as part of the recovery efforts of PGIN for pandemic-affected livestock raisers.

The Provincial Veterinary Office spearheaded the cluster distribution of upgraded chicken and piglets to recipients from the towns of Sarrat, Piddig, Carasi, and Vintar.

Over 200 livestock raisers were assisted in this batch of animal dispersal. They also receive feeds, electrolytes, and vitamins for their livestock.

Rest assured that we will continue to try to give you additional livelihood and ayuda, may COVID-19 man o wala," Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc remarked.

Meanwhile, Dr. Valenzuela has mentioned that Ilocos Norte maintains its African Swine Fever (ASF)-free status, further encouraging Ilokanos to be more vigilant:

"I'm glad to inform you that we are maintaining our green zone, which means protected zone against ASF.
