Outstanding Ilokano youth, organizations recognize thru "INTAYOn" program

Various youth individuals, Youth Organizations (YOs), and Youth-Serving Organizations (YSOs) throughout the province, were awarded at " The Search for Ilocos Norte Ten Accomplished Youth and Organizations (INTAYOn!)" last January 22, 2021, at the La Tabacalera Lifestyle Center, Laoag City.

Initiated by the Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office (INYDO), the "INTAYOn!" Program aims to recognize and highlight the efforts and commitment of the youth and other groups in serving the province, through their project and advocacy.

In his message, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc extended his congratulations to the participants and further expressed his support to them:

"I would like to congratulate all of you. Please know that I and the Provincial Government are proud of you and we will always be supportive of our youth organizations. Do not underestimate the the inspiration that you give to many people because sometimes, you may not know it, but you're actually helping people. Someway or somehow, they are motivated, pushed, or inspired by what you do, so continue being a good example for our communities."

Each finalist had undergone the selection process which included the eligibility and paper screening, preliminary screening, field validation, and the final presentation.

The Movement Against Plastic Pollution (MAPP), 4H Poblacion White Cubs, North Western University-Supreme Student Council, and Mr. JC Finale bagged the first place award for the community-based category, secondary school category, tertiary school category, and individual category, respectively.

Other winners for each category are as follows: Ilocos Norte Parliament of Youth Leaders, 2nd place, Escoda Peacemaker, 3rd place  under community-based category; F. Camaquin Integrated School-SSG, 2nd place, City of Batac National High School-SSG, 3rd place for secondary school category; North Western University-The Review, 2nd place under tertiary school category; and Mr. Jerwin Valencia, 2nd place, Mr. Rogie Balino, 3rd place under individual category. Top three (3) winners received a cash prize and a trophy.

"Layunin ng grupo namin na tumulong sa komunidad, lalo na ang mga kabataan, sa pamamagitan ng pagsagawa ng mga donation drive, peer tutoring, at peer counseling. Sobrang saya namin dahil ito ang unang pagkakataon na makatanggap ng award ang aming grupo. Dahil dito, mas lalo kaming magiging dedicated at motivated na magsilbi sa kapawa namin kabataan," Ms. Nicole Ida, one of the officers of 4H Poblacion Cubs, concluded.
