by PGIN-CMO

Dec. 09, 2020 ...

Over 200 small business owners and displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) throughout the province will be served with livelihood starter kits and negosyo carts from the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), this December to ensure their speedy recovery.

The "IN na Kabuhayan Livelihood Starter Kits" and "IN na Negosyo sa Kariton" are among the programs of the Provincial Government, under the implementation of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO). These aim to provide fast and easy source of capital for small enterprises in regaining normalcy in their livelihood, and starting capital  for distressed OFWs.

"We have a total of 160 beneficiaries for the livelihood starter kits and 50 beneficiaries for the negosyo carts. For now, priority muna natin ang mga micro-enterprises under tailoring, computer shop, vulcanizing, carwash, and upholstery. 'Yong mga beneficiaries natin for the livelihood starter kits ay sasailalim din sa basic entrepreneurship training with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)," PESO Manager Mrs. Anne Marie Lizette B. Atuan discussed.

A livelihood starter kit worth P5,000 will be given to each of the beneficiaries from micro-enterprises while displaced OFWs will receive a P12,500 worth of negosyo cart and a P2,000 working capital.

The livelihood starter kits will be distributed on December 11 (District II) and December 14, 2020 (District I). Likewise, negosyo carts will also be distributed on December 10 (District II) and December 17, 2020 (District I). The distribution of livelihood grants for beneficiaries from Districts II and I will be conducted at the Imelda Cultural Center, Batac City and Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena, Laoag City, respectively.

"Madami na ang ating natulungan pero madami din 'yong mga  displaced workers at small business owners dito sa probinsiya na hindi pa nakakatanggap ng assistance. Kung isa sila sa mga wala pang kahit anong natanggap mula sa PGIN at iba pang ahensiya ng gobyerno, maaari silang bumisita sa ating opisina (PESO) at magpalista, upang matulungan natin sila sa mga future programs ng Provincial Government," Mrs. Atuan concluded.
