Gov Marcos Manotoc to Ilokano councilors: "Kayo ang aming tulay sa mga tao"

As Ilocos Norte joins the celebration of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Week, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc expressed his gratefulness to Ilokano councilors for building a linkage between the Provincial Government and its constituents.

"Mahalaga po ang mga ginagawa ninyo. Sometimes, you don't get the credit that you deserve, but please know that we appreciate you. Kayo po ang aming tulay sa mga tao," Governor Manotoc remarked.

He further thanked the whole PCL Ilocos Norte Chapter for filling the gaps in the executive branch and crafting legislation that is beneficial to residents.

"In this time of calamity, we need all the support we can get, and we need to be on the same page. Pagtulungan po nating solusyunan ang mga malalaking problema sa ating probinsiya," he added.

The week-long celebration which started yesterday, September 28, and will run until October 2, has a theme: "Collaborating towards a Synergy of Creative Programs and Best Practices amidst Global Adversity.

A tree planting activity, a bloodletting activity, and a donation drive were conducted at Brgy. Caaoacan, Laoag City earlier today.

Moreover, the proceeds of the donation drive will be given to select Ilokano students to aid them in school as classes start on October 5.

Similar activities will be conducted in the City of Batac and the town of Bacarra on October 1 and 2, respectively.

Furthermore, Board Member Handy Lao, President of PCL Ilocos Norte Federation, underscored that the Chapter is committed to serving the Ilokano community by developing policies and practices that will cater to the best interest of the Ilokanos.
