Notably, the recent implementation of "expanded and targeted" testing is the attributed cause of the COVID-19 upsurge in the province.

Meanwhile, the opening of the Rapid Testing Center at the Badoc control point has significantly heightened the security in the Southern Provincial Border; ensuring the early detection of the virus among returning residents, and the prevention of another potential outbreak.

Since its first day of operation on August 28 to September 3, the total number of Rapid Antigen Assay Test conducted in Badoc is 392, four (4) of which tested positive and have been denied entry for security purposes.

The cost of the antigen test is Php 1,000.00, with only an hour of waiting for the result. The Center is open every Monday to Saturday.

Further, the Provincial Government thru the initiative of Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc is eyeing to put up another Rapid Testing Center at the control point in Pagudpud and a PCR laboratory at the Gov. Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital to significantly increase the province's testing capacity.

To date, over 1, 600 Returning Overseas Filipinos and almost 5, 000 Locally Stranded individuals were already assisted.
