Construction of "Big 3" resumes after architectural revisions

by PGIN-CMO

Jul. 09, 2020 ...

The Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) is resuming the construction of "Big 3" infrastructure projects after months of delay due to revisions on architectural designs.

"Last year pa natin sinimulan itong 'Big 3' at dahil design-build project itohindi automatic construction kaagad. May naganap pang design phase. Lani Daquioag said.

Ongoing demolition works and partial foundation plans are being started, particularly the bored piling at the Dap-ayan Center, excavation works at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Stadium, and demolition process at the Provincial Capitol.

Daquioag admitted.

On June 28, 2019, the Provincial Government conducted the simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony of the estimated P2-Billion worth of infrastructure projects.

During the 202nd founding anniversary celebration of Ilocos Norte on February 3, 2020, architectural firms leading the development explained that designs of the "Big 3" were anchored on heritage, Ilokano culture and tradition, and green architecture.
