"CapEx" brings booster vax, PGIN frontline services to grassroots

Feb. 25, 2022 ...

The Capitol Express Program, also dubbed as "CapEx" among Ilocos Norte residents, has resumed bringing various frontline services of the Provincial Government, particularly to the province's remote communities.

One of the new services offered by CapEx is the administration of booster immunizations to residents who have limited access to public transit to get to vaccination sites.

Residents can also avail of regular CapEx services like Kadiwa on Wheels; distribution of medicine supplies, agricultural inputs, and livestock supplements; wheelchairs, canes, and reading glasses for senior citizens; and snacks and school supplies for daycare workers.

After the delay of program rollout for several months due to the COVID-19 situation in the province, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc pledged, "It's good to be back. Medyo na COVID din ang CapEx natin but babawi po kami. We will cover the whole province in the next month or two."

Governor Manotoc and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) frontline offices kicked off the CapEx in Laoag City last February 22, then in the Municipalities of Solsona and Paoay last February 23, and in Pagudpud town yesterday.
