"NariMATT a Paskua" kicks-off Ilocos Norte's Christmas celeb, homecoming seasonDec 06, 2019
To officially start the Christmas celebration in the province, the Ilocos Norte Tourism Office (INTO) of the Provincial Government will be launching the 2019 "NariMATT a Paskua," through the annual lighting of the Provincial Capitol Building, on December 9, 2019, 5:30 p.m.
This year's "Capitol Christmas Tree Light-up" will feature a massive installation inspired by the Minor Basilica of St. John the Baptist Parish Church (Shrine of La Virgen Milgrosa de Badoc-Coronada), along with miniature houses, a 30 feet tall Christmas tree, and a giant lantern.
"NariMATT a Paskua" is the 2019 Christmas tourism brand of the province which will showcase the unique Ilokano ways of celebrating the holiday season.
"It's always a good time to come to Ilocos Norte since it is the homecoming season of Ilokanos, extending until February for the Laoag City fiesta. Every year, we showcase a 'homecoming feel' and you will see this in our decorations. We want to portray that Christmas is for the children and for the Ilokano families," Provincial Tourism Officer Aianree Raquel explained.
Other activities of the province for the Christmas celebration include "Partuat ti Kailokuan" trade tair which will open on December 17-22, 2019, 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., and a small fashion show for the "Inabel Weavers Appreciation Night" on December 18, 2019, 6:00 p.m., which will be both held at the Aurora Park, Laoag City.
